Come to the European Championships Cyclocross in Middelkerke smoothly on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November.


We’re excited to welcome you to the European Cyclocross Championships in Middelkerke, taking place on the military domain of Lombardsijde! To ensure everything runs smoothly, visitors are encouraged to come on foot, by bike, or by public transport. Please note: There is no parking available in the immediate vicinity of the event site. Follow the guidelines below to reach the Championships as comfortably as possible.

On foot or by bike

The European Championships on the military domain in Nieuwpoort are easily accessible on foot or by bike. A free and spacious bicycle parking area will be available at the entrance of the

event (Matrozenlaan). You can easily reach the bike parking via the Coastal Cycle Route, signposted with green waymarks reading “Kustroute”. This route connects all Belgian coastal towns with each other.

Navigate easily to the bike parking

Coming by train, tram, or bus? Then Ostend Station is the perfect starting point to reach the event in Middelkerke. If you’re travelling by car, you can park in Ostend and continue by Coastal Tram (Kusttram). Take the tram in the direction of Nieuwpoort and get off at Lombardsijde Zeelaan, only a 5-minute walk from the event site. On Sunday, extra trams will run between Ostend and Nieuwpoort to ensure smooth travel to and from the Championships. You can also take bus line 60 (Veurne – Koksijde – Nieuwpoort – Ostend). This bus stops at Lombardsijde Dorp, located about 1.2 km (17 minutes on foot) from the event.

Coming to the Championships with your own supporters’ bus? Then reserve a free

parking spot on the designated bus parking via this link . You’ll receive a parking voucher with

all details after registration. Passengers may only get on or off at the official event bus stop. Stopping or parking elsewhere will be fined by the police.

There is no parking directly next to the entrance of the

event site. Visitors can use the designated visitor parking area on Zeelaan in Middelkerke. Parking tickets must be purchased in advance via the website. This guarantees your parking space and ensures a smooth entry on event day. Please follow the signposted directions when approaching the parking area. They will guide you safely and efficiently to the correct zone. The visitor parking is located just a 5-minute walk from the entrance. To avoid waiting lines when leaving, we kindly ask you to purchase your parking ticket

in advance. Price: €5 per vehicle, per day.

In addition to the designated visitor car park, the following remote parking options are available:

  • Use the NMBS car park at Ostend Station. After parking, simply hop on the coastal tram towards Lombardsijde Zeelaan.
  • Park at another public car park in Middelkerke and switch to the Coastal Tram:
    • Parking Badenlaan
    • Parking Koninginnelaan
    • Parking IJzerlaan

Persons with disabilities can obtain a separate parking ticket via the website.

This parking ticket is only valid upon presentation of their disability card, which gives them access to the reserved parking spaces close to the entrance of the event.
