A unique championship course returns
The military domain of Lombardsijde provides the one-of-a-kind backdrop for the 2025 European Cyclocross Championships in Middelkerke. Normally closed to the public, this site will open its gates for one weekend of top-level cyclocross spectacle. The course winds through dunes, grassy stretches, sand sections, and technical corners, offering the perfect mix of power, agility, and skill. At just over three kilometres long, it combines fast straights with short climbs, a challenging sand section, and technical passages that will push every rider to the limit.
A familiar setting
The course may ring a bell, taking us back more than three years. In January 2022, this very venue hosted the Belgian Cyclocross Championships, where Wout van Aert and Sanne Cant were crowned national champions in an edition held without spectators due to COVID restrictions. Three years later, the fans finally return to witness the battle for the European jersey unfold in this iconic setting.
